User Experience and Design - Solutions

Discover, Design, Evaluate

Our User Experience Centre of Excellence approach is broken down into three steps – discover, design and evaluate. These three steps consist of 24 methods that are used in different situations and for a variety of purposes. NEC Australia selects the tools that will give the most relevant and effective results for your business will need and the wants of your user base.

The NEC User Experience team also focuses on a number of key areas that drive the user oriented solution. These individual areas work with each other to produce a system that support user goals and meets both system requirements and organisational objectives. These include:

  • Information Architecture – is designed to address such issues as primary usage goals and how users achieve those with your applications.
  • Interaction Design – in order to create a rich user experience, the most appropriate user interface (UI) patterns are selected to reduce the complexity of systems.
  • Usability Engineering – once visualisations have been developed, the relevancy of the user experience is tested to observe any discrepancies between the designs and the user’s ability to consume them.
  • Visual Design – communicates interactivity, information structure, workflow and the relationships between elements and components.
  • Prototype Engineering – increases process efficiency.Prototyping provides a working set of applications that enable proper evaluation, and identifies any useability gaps. It clarifies the use of the functional elements and “avoids costly changes during the build process”.
