Victorians safer with funding boost for triple zero calls service: The Emergency Services Telecommunications Authority (ESTA) has signed an $11 million contract with NEC Australia to improve the network, which last year took 2.4 million calls for help across police, fire, SES and ambulance. The Minister for Emergency Services, Jane Garrett, announced NECA's seven year contract that will deliver a strong communications platform to provide Victorians with a continuous, reliable triple zero service into the future.

Facial recognition technology for police to help keep Territorians safe: NEC Australia officials travelled to Timor-Leste with the Northern Territory (NT) Government Department of Education to formalise an agreement to improve technology and connectivity to one of the country’s primary schools and a leading Timorese Training school. NT Minister for Education Peter Chandler opened the English Language centre at the Sentru Formasaun Provisional Training School today, in Becora, Timor-Leste.

NEC Australia to build new federal government system to support Apprenticeships

NEC has been selected by the Department of Education and Training to develop, implement and host a new IT platform to improve the services provided to apprentices and their employers throughout Australia. The multi-year contract will automate many of the manual and paper-based processes involved in administering apprenticeships in Australia. The system, called the Australian Apprenticeships Management System (AAMS), is part of the Federal Government’s plan to improve support for employers and apprentices as well as streamline payments that are currently made through the legacy Training and Youth Internet Management System (TYIMS).

DFAT selects NEC Australia for ICT Global Support Centre Services

NEC has won the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) ICT Global Support Centre Services contract. Under the four-year contract, NEC Australia will assume responsibility for DFAT’s Global Support Centre Services supporting 12,000 users at 160 sites globally. DFAT is responsible for developing and implementing foreign, trade and development policy. The department maintains the Government’s global classified communications system and delivers ICT services to over 51 agencies in Australia.

NEC has been awarded a multi-million dollar Telephony Solutions and Services contract by Victoria’s Emergency Services Telecommunications Authority (ESTA), the critical link between the Victorian Community and the State’s emergency service agencies. Under the terms of the deal, NEC Australia will maintain and support the Telephony Solutions and Services, including the State’s Triple Zero Communications (emergency communications) Platform to enable a robust service with a highly reliable, fault tolerant platform that ensures continuous emergency services for Victorian Government agencies across the State.

NEC Australia critical to the success of Victoria's new Box Hill Hospital

NEC has implemented the core ICT infrastructure for Victoria’s newly opened $447.5 million redevelopment of Eastern Health’s Box Hill Hospital. ICT is playing a bigger than ever role in Box Hill Hospital’s new state of the art building thanks to a partnership between NEC Australia and the Victorian Government. The new Box Hill Hospital facility opened on 30 September 2014 and is now the major referral centre for residents of the eastern region of Melbourne. The project is the result of a $447.5 million redevelopment funded by the Victorian Government and delivered by the Victorian Department of Health and Eastern Health, offering patients a contemporary and technologically advanced healthcare facility.
